V 0.1 - 14/01/2021
Today I worked on the effects for the ice spear. The first and second jabs now emit a spike of ice. The third jab, the combo move, emits three spikes.. They don't deal damage yet - that will be done when there are actually enemies in the level.
Throwing the ice spear leaves a trail of ice spikes, and when it collides it emits multiple spikes in a huge snowflake pattern (this was achieved by altering the angle of each new spike emitted by 45 degrees)
I'm not 100% satisfied with it yet, but it's a lot better than what it was before!
Things I'm not quite happy with:
- the ice spikes are a little underwhelming when jabbing, but quite nice as a trail when throwing. I might try to scale them up a little for the jabs.
- the colour of the spikes that are emitted after the spear collides when thrown is a little off. I'll see if I can get it to better match the colour of the other ice effects, or maybe vice versa.
I also added sounds for all the spears - weapon switch, jab, jab combo and throw. Some of the sounds are a bit harsh and maybe need a little tweaking.
